How to Get Fair and Glowing Skin Naturally

Welcome to Spring!

Although we’ve been enjoying the season for some time now, the weather is finally beginning to show kindness. While the nights remain cool, the daytime brings about temperatures warm enough for a light jacket and/or hoodie. During these months many may be wondering, how can I get my skin to glow naturally? Or, what are some products that I can begin investing in that are worth it? Well, it’s no surprise that there are just some products you want to stay away from as the weather begins to change.

Warmer temperatures call for a major change in your skincare routine as our skin tends to become oily in both the Spring and Summer. The rise in heat, humidity, and pollution levels can lead to oilier skin and more frequent breakouts. So what do we recommend here at CNR Naturals?

Tip No. 1

Pop your products in the fridge. Yep, a cosmetic fridge can save you hundreds of dollars and help your products to work better. A cosmetic fridge is designed to keep your facial products refreshingly cool on application. Products with Vitamin C are an absolute must for cooling and for that skin pick me up on a warm or hot day, soak a facial cloth in cold water with a few drops of essential oil. Then, squeeze out excess water, roll up the cloth and keep it in a plastic bag in the fridge until ready to revive hot tired skin.

Tip No. 2

Gravitate towards items that are best for warm and hot climates. Some ingredients to look for that boost hydration is hyaluronic acid—but you want to be cautious of its concentration. Some other natural ingredients that work well: turmeric, honey, avocado, banana, and aloe vera to name a few. Much of the aforementioned can be used to make face masks, boosters, serums, and spray toners.

Tip No. 3

Exfoliate: we must exfoliate especially during the warm and hot weather. Such climates can lead to dehydration of the skin—you will not glow if you’re skin is lacking hydration, instead, you will look as though you’ve aged terribly. Don’t let this happen. To prevent the build-up of dead skin, exfoliate regularly while focusing on hydrating the skin at the same time to counteract the dryness.

Tip No. 4

When the weather begins to change from dry to humid, oftentimes we think sunscreen is only a necessity in the humid seasons. This is the furthest thing from the truth, you want to make it a habit to use sunscreen all year round and so, warm weather protection does not feel like a chore. During the day protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen – an SPF of 40, PA++ is perfect for everyday wear.

Tip No. 5

Combat chemical-laden cleansers for items with more natural antibacterial properties: African Black Soap. African Black Soap is safe for all skin types and moisturizing. Here at CNR Naturals, our African Black Soap facial cleansers are submerged in filtered water and then infused with lemongrass—lemongrass is a plant that might help prevent the growth of some bacteria and yeast. It is often used as a fragrance in deodorants, soaps, and cosmetics.

It is safe to say that you will have to remain consistent to see real results as with anything else. For some who have acne, please note, black soap may also help fight acne. In addition to balancing your skin’s natural oils, the soap’s shea content may help repair damaged cells.
